Gwendoline Jean Plumb AM BEM (2 August 1912 – 5 June 2002), was an Australian performer of international appeal, actress and comedian active in literally every form of the art genre, (except circus) including revue, pantomime, vaudeville, interviewing, game shows, live appearances, compering, radio production, scriptwriting and acting, television soap opera and mini-series and made-for-TV film.
Band leader Andy Partridge produced And Love For All (1989), the second album by The Lilac Time, while also compering for an unbroadcast children's game show named Matchmakers, and Dave Gregory played for Johnny Hates Jazz, Marc Almond and Francesco Messina whilst also producing for Cud, while Colin Moulding performed a special event concert with David Marx and the Refugees, a Swindon-based band that reunited him with former XTC member Barry Andrews.
McGonagall performs at poetry events nationwide, as well as compering at the Blue Suede Sporran Club.
While compering a gig there in 2003, Olver slipped and fell on stage, dislocating his knee and breaking his ankle.
Primarily known for compering mushairas in India and abroad and contributing to Urdu literature, he also compered the DCM mushaira, IndiaPakistan poetry conference from 1952 to 2016.
